Seth T. Sunderland is an investor, entrepreneur, and former investment banker. Currently, Seth is the chief executive officer of Spring Canyon Capital, a privately-owned real estate investment and asset management company focused on Utah and the Intermountain West. Additionally, he is an adjunct professor of finance at the University of Utah.

Seth previously worked for UBS Investment Bank from 2004 until 2018 where he executed merger and acquisition transactions with a cumulative value of over $35 billion. From 2011 to 2018 he was based in Asia and served as head of Southeast Asia mergers and acquisitions for UBS where he led merger and acquisition efforts in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand.

Leslie Carpenter has several years of working with media, policy, and campaigning. She has experience managing political candidate campaigns, fundraising, and identifying community leaders to lend support to candidates. She has also held numerous community leadership positions, including serving as Logan’s Children’s Justice Center Board President.

Leslie has organized and hosted events for the Utah State Republican Party, including the annual Legislative Breakfast and the State Convention breakfast with Governor Ron DeSantis as one of the guest speakers. She also helped organize and operate the special election debates in the summer of 2023 to elect a new Congressional House of Representative to replace Representative Chris Stewart. 

After shadowing a state senator for the 2022 session, Leslie worked for one of the state’s top lobbyists for the 2023 session. She is now partnered with Greg Hughes in their lobbying firm where they represent The Utah Sheriff’s Association, Washington County, Stadler Rail, and others. 


The Utah Elephant Club leadership is appointed by the Utah Republican Party Chair around the date of the nominating convention.
